This is the 2nd mat of this type I have used. The first one was frustrating because every time you hit a ball the mat would go flying. It came with a verity of pins, stakes and velcro to hold it in place which I tried but wound up attaching it with velcro to a piece of 1/4" plywood as shown on the astroturf mat. With this setup you can hit countless balls without any problem. Simply place the ball in the right position on the mat, hit it and visually see exactly where your divot would be taken. Then simply "wipe" the white area back for the next shot. I did not think it would last but have hit on the original one at lease 100 balls so far and it is still like new. If your skeptical as was I about so called golf aids you might give up on this one if you don't find a good mounting method. However this one changed my game. I tended to hit the ball fat. With the feedback of this type of devise I was able to quickly determine with a little more starting weight on my left foot my divots are at or a little after the ball as they should be. In addition I'm starting to get some backspin on the short iron shots and my shot dispersion is much better as a result. As far as this particular one, I liked that it came with a plastic base and it looked like the green part seemed to nestle into it. However without any other further means of attachment on the compliant astroturf mat it still did not stay in place and each shot launched it forward as you can see in the photo. It also comes with several items to secure it and it will depend on what surface you place it on which one will work best. If you spend some time on your placement this is the best golf aid I have found for a higher handicap player. Even good players want to know the bottom of their swing arc. Highly recommend
